Although the tomb of Tut was broken into and robbed twice, during the rule of Horemheb and the supervision of the Valley of the Kings by Maya, the former Treasurer and good friend of Tut, who continued to hold office as Treasurer during Horemheb’s reign, Maya did manage to get the tomb resealed and hidden from future robbers with most of the tomb left intact. If much had been jumbled up, the burial chamber itself was untouched. The unorthodox sometimes show him in a good light, but tend to hare off into wild theories so unsubstantiated by known facts that they are easily dismissed even by those ignorant of Ancient Egypt and its histories, customs, traditions, etc. For instance, one claims Tutankhamen was Jesus Christ! Another claims that Akhenaten was Moses, and another that Tut was Jesus and Akhenaten was Moses. Another claims that the established timeline of events in Ancient Egypt is off by several hundred years, and that there is a global conspiracy claiming that 1000 years of made-up history has been added to our timelines.
No one really knows for sure who Tutankhamen’s mother or father was,yet those with theories claim their theory is Fact! (Is it just Ways to sell their books, documentaries, and to justify their academic tenure, research and expedition funding? Or do they actually believe it?) |
